Applewood
Women's Golf Club plays 18 holes on Tuesday mornings at Applewood
Golf Course in Golden, Colorado. Our group ranges in age from
35 to 90 and in handicap from 10 to 55. We have a lot of fun
but are also competitive and sport several tournaments and have
'Plays of the Day' throughout the season. Applewood Women's Golf
Club is a certified member of the Colorado Women's Golf
Association. (CWGA)
The par-71 course at Applewood Golf Course in Golden, Colorado was designed by J. P. Maxwell, ASGCA, and opened on September 1, 1956 as a private course named Rolling Hills Country Club. On April 1, 1968 the course was made public and re-named Applewood Golf Course. December 20, 2016- Prospect Recreation & Park District (PRPD), in partnership with The Trust for Public Land (TPL), acquired the Applewood Golf Course for $13.5 million from Molson Coors Brewing. Applewood is a chemical-free golf course and a perfect example for 'holistic golf course maintenance'. Please see the December 2008 edition of Golf Digest for the complete article on Applewood being 'green'. Touchstone Golf, LLC has managed the course since 2008.
Applewood is a target-oriented course that requires strategic
thinking. It's nearly 6,300 yards, from the red tees, and features
slight elevation changes, water hazards and a mix of local
wildlife. Our course is one you'll want to play time after
time.
